The Complete Guide to Hollywood Movies Opening in August 2020

August has traditionally been a wind-down period for the summer blockbuster schedule. Due to the havoc that COVID-19 has wreaked though, and with a July reopening now looking impossible due to the recent spike in cases, August has become the month that both studios and theater owners are banking their hopes on that movie-going can resume so they can stop bleeding money.

Both Warner Bros and Disney were forced to reshuffle Tenet (initially on 16 Jul, then 30 Jul, then 11 Aug, then finally 27 Aug) and Mulan (from 27 Mar to 24 Jul, to 20 Aug, and then to premium VOD on 4 Sep in countries with Disney Plus, and in cinemas for those without). Here’s hoping they don’t have to reschedule the movies for a third time. *Spoiler alert: They did.*
